Alexia Morneau
Alexia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Law (LL.L) and an Honours Bachelor’s degree in International Development and Globalization (B.sc.soc).
A feminist with a passion for the arts, languages and yoga, it was the law that appealed to her, more specifically criminal law. During her studies, Alexia participated in several research projects in various branches of law, such as sexual assault in Canada, the crime of genocide, discrimination against people experiencing homelessness, obstetric and gynecological violence, contumacy, and the law of human remains and ashes. She has also volunteered on numerous occasions, including with the Centres d’aide et de lutte contre les agressions à caractère sexuelle francophones de l’Outaouais (CALACS) and on her faculty’s Mental Health Committee.
Today, she holds several legal positions at Belton Avocats and the Saint-Michel Legal Clinic, where she coordinates the Committee to Combat Racial Profiling.
Fun fact: To the great despair of her loved ones, Alexia knows most of Celine Dion’s songs by heart.
