Anastassia Duru
Anastassia Duru completed a bachelor’s degree in law in 2024 at the Université de Montréal after having previously completed a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and political science at the same university in 2021. She will begin her Bar in June 2024 and will articling at Belton Lawyers in March 2025.
Since beginning in law school, she has had a keen interest in criminal law, with a particular interest in the youth criminal justice system. She is also a member of the
St. Michel’s Legal Clinic
is a member of the Racial Profiling Committee, and is very interested in the issue of evidence of racial profiling in criminal proceedings.
She was also a member of the
Mobile Legal Clinic
between September 2022 and September 2023, which works with people experiencing homelessness in various shelters in Montreal to provide them with legal information.
Anastassia is passionate about helping others, and hopes to have a career as a lawyer that will allow her to combine legal knowledge with help from her community.
Fun fact: she loves to run and run half marathons with her friends on a whim.
